Man Utd Eyes Four-Player Transfer Spree Following Bryan Mbeumo Pursuit

Manchester United are ready to provide substantial support to manager Ruben Amorim during the upcoming summer transfer window, with their transfer activity expected to continue beyond the potential acquisition of Bryan Mbeumo.

Following a disappointing domestic campaign that marked one of their worst seasons in history, United have already secured the signature of Wolverhampton Wanderers' talented forward Matheus Cunha. The club is also optimistic about finalizing a deal with Brentford for Mbeumo, who netted 20 goals in the Premier League during the previous season.

The Manchester club is understood to have lodged a second offer valued at £60 million ($82.4 million), and they recognize that Mbeumo favors joining them over other suitors, including Thomas Frank's Tottenham Hotspur, who defeated United in the 2025 Europa League final. According to The Athletic, Mbeumo has communicated to Brentford his desire to move to Old Trafford this summer.

The combined cost of acquiring Cunha and Mbeumo is anticipated to exceed £122 million ($168.1 million), yet their summer spending spree shows no signs of slowing down.

The Times indicates that United remain active in pursuing four additional signings, targeting a new striker, wing-back, midfielder, and goalkeeper as priority positions. While Cunha and Mbeumo would significantly address their offensive shortcomings, Rasmus Højlund's disappointing sophomore campaign has persuaded the club that a fresh No. 9 is essential at Old Trafford.

Although wing-back Patrick Dorgu became Amorim's inaugural January signing, United still require additional depth in wide positions. Furthermore, Christian Eriksen's departure has created space for another central midfielder to join the squad. Starting goalkeeper Andre Onana faces speculation about a potential exit after two seasons of inconsistent performances, while Altay Bayındır has yet to demonstrate he can serve as a reliable long-term replacement.

Nevertheless, for United to strengthen Amorim's roster as planned, they must offload several players during the summer window. The primary candidates for departure include Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho.

Rashford remains determined to secure a transfer to Barcelona, though the Spanish giants face budget constraints while pursuing Nico Williams. Garnacho's transfer market has been relatively quiet this summer following winter interest from Chelsea and Napoli, while Juventus are considering a move for Sancho.

The English winger, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Chelsea, appeared set to join the London club permanently, but disagreements over contract terms have resulted in Sancho's return to Manchester.
