The atmosphere at Old Trafford is gloomy following Sunday's contentious Manchester derby loss, but the Red Devils have an opportunity to quickly turn things around when Brighton & Hove Albion come to town in the Carabao Cup third round.

Man Utd didn't even reach this stage of the tournament last season, suffering an embarrassing exit at the hands of League Two Grimsby Town in the second round, going down 12–11 on penalties in Cleethorpes.
