Man Utd Green-Lights Antony Departure Despite Massive Financial Hit

Manchester United and Real Betis have finalized terms for the permanent sale of winger Antony, according to official reports.
Following a successful loan period during the latter half of the previous campaign, both Antony and Betis had been pursuing a permanent arrangement throughout the summer, though financial concerns regarding the overall deal structure caused discussions to extend until the transfer window's closing day.
Betis had actually stepped away from negotiations with United the previous week, referencing complications with Antony's remaining salary obligations from his Old Trafford contract, yet communication channels remained open as both parties worked toward a favorable resolution.
The Athletic has now verified that United and Betis have struck a deal to bring Antony back to Spanish football permanently.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Betis will provide an upfront fee of €22 million (£19.1 million, $25.7 million), plus an additional €3 million in performance-related bonuses, while United will retain 50% of any profit from the Brazilian's future transfer.
Importantly, United will not contribute any funds toward Antony's departure to facilitate the move.
Efforts to offload the five players sidelined by manager Ruben Amorim—Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia—have progressed gradually this summer. Rashford secured a loan move to Barcelona early in the window, while Garnacho recently finalized a £40 million transfer to Chelsea.
Antony's departure now seems complete, though discussions continue regarding potential exits for both Sancho and Malacia as the transfer deadline approaches.
