Manchester United were robbed of all three points at Everton by a stunning last-gasp strike from Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
The points were shared at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the Toffees clawing back twice to secure a draw.
Bryan Mbeumo's precise finish broke the deadlock just after the interval, but United sat back and allowed the hosts, still reeling from a chaotic Deadline Day, to build momentum. Even so, their first leveler didn't come until the 83rd minute, when Tyrique George hammered a shot past Senne Lammens.
Benjamin Šeško's maiden Premier League goal of the campaign looked set to seal the win moments later, but the Red Devils were left shell-shocked by Maitland-Niles's breathtaking late equalizer.
One Thing We Can't Ignore

Benjamin Šeško will ultimately want to be far more than just a "super sub" at Manchester United, but shaking that label is proving difficult.
The Slovenian netted four times from the bench last season during a debut campaign that steadily grew in promise and output. United believe they have their long-term center forward in Šeško, who was compared to Erling Haaland during his early Red Bull days, blending extraordinary athleticism with a sharp instinct inside the box.
It's typically a potent combination, and those qualities were on display again at Everton. A shin injury hampered his preseason and has restricted him to substitute appearances so far this term, yet he once again looked poised to be the decisive figure on Merseyside.
Šeško had scored the winner at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last season, finishing off a clinical counter. This time it was different — he stooped to meet Luke Shaw's dangerous cross from the left and headed past Jordan Pickford.
United's poor game management after taking the lead twice meant Šeško's contribution was ultimately overshadowed.
Man Utd Player Ratings vs. Everton (4-2-3-1)

*Ratings provided by FotMob*
GK: Senne Lammens—6.0: It was a fierce Tyrique George effort, but Lammens should have done better. That said, he had little chance with Everton's second equalizer.
RB: Diogo Dalot—6.7: Lucky to avoid an early yellow card, and struggled at times against George. Eventually booked for pulling back Jack Grealish's shirt.
CB: Harry Maguire—6.7: Maguire battled on with a bloodied nose, defending his area adequately when tested. A few sloppy moments in possession, however.
CB: Lisandro Martínez—6.3: He likely needs to be more involved in the build-up if United are to progress with the ball. Nevertheless, Martínez produced a couple of outstanding last-ditch defensive interventions to stop Everton on the break.
LB: Luke Shaw—7.6: An impressive display from the fullback, who made a crucial recovery tackle to deny the hosts during their surge following United's opener. His overlapping run and cross for the second goal was excellent.
CM: Youri Tielemans—7.2: Composed and assured in possession. A genuinely encouraging outing from the summer arrival.
CM: Kobbie Mainoo—8.4: Magical in tight areas, Mainoo repeatedly wriggled free of pressure to drive United forward. The young Englishman was a vibrant force throughout and set up Mbeumo's superb opener.
RW: Bryan Mbeumo—8.0: Not flawless, but delivered a moment of genuine individual brilliance at the start of the second half.
AM: Bruno Fernandes—7.1: Struck the crossbar early on, then found it hard to impose himself on the game. Still, Fernandes contributed to the second goal with a clever delayed pass for Shaw's overlapping run.
LW: Marcus Rashford—7.1: Entertaining. Very entertaining.
ST: Matheus Cunha—6.3: Wasteful in the final third, and United required more from him as a reference point during spells of Everton pressure.
SUB: Benjamin Šeško (70' for Cunha)—7.0
SUB: Patrick Dorgu (70' for Rashford)—6.3
SUB: Leny Yoro (84' for Dalot)—6.3
SUB: Andrey Santos (84' for Mainoo)—6.4
SUB: Noussair Mazraoui (90' for Shaw)—6.7
Subs not used: Karl Darlow (GK), Ayden Heaven, Mason Mount, Joshua Zirkzee.
