Man Utd Shatters Financial Records with Stunning 2024-25 Revenue Figures

Manchester United's financial report for 2024–25 shows record-breaking revenue of £666.5 million ($909.5 million), though the club still posted a net deficit of £33 million.

This represents a substantial improvement from the previous year's £113.2 million net deficit in 2023–24, marking meaningful progress toward meeting PSR and additional financial compliance standards.

Television income for the year ending June 30, 2025, dropped by 22%—due to Europa League participation instead of Champions League qualification from 2023–24—however, commercial partnerships and gate receipts increased by 10% and 17% respectively compared to the prior season.

This financial performance is particularly noteworthy given United's poorest on-field campaign in five decades, placing 15th in the Premier League during a period of substantial organizational transformation at Old Trafford.

"Achieving record-breaking income during such a difficult period for the organization showcases the durability that defines Manchester United," stated CEO Omar Berrada.

"Our commercial operations remain robust as we continue providing attractive offerings and experiences for supporters, while delivering exceptional value to our business partners. With our expense reduction initiatives beginning to show results, there's considerable opportunity for enhanced financial outcomes, which will ultimately support our primary objective: achieving success on the field."

Berrada also highlighted the summer's "encouraging" roster additions to both men's and women's teams, while navigating through "a phase of organizational and management transition."

Operational costs decreased by nearly £35 million compared to 2023–24, yet still exceeded income, totaling £733.6 million throughout the campaign. Player salaries were reduced by 14%, however.

The yearly amortization expense—the method of spreading transfer costs across a player's contract duration—reached £196.4 million. As of June 30, 2025, United carried £537.3 million in remaining unamortized player registration costs. Expenses associated with Erik ten Hag's dismissal and his coaching staff last October contributed to exceptional costs of £36.6 million.

Looking ahead to 2025–26, United projects continued strong revenue between £640–660 million, even without anticipated UEFA competition earnings.
