Altay Bayındır made clear it was "not a goodbye" following his loan departure from Manchester United.
La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have secured Bayındır on a temporary basis that includes a purchase option valued at $4.7 million (£3.5 million), though his parting message seemed to indicate he has no intention of staying in Spain permanently.
"Thank you for every chant, every message and every moment we have shared," he posted on social media. "Your support means a great deal to me and I'll carry it with me throughout this next chapter of my life.
"I'll miss Old Trafford but this is not goodbye. Wishing a successful season to everyone at the club, my heart and support will always be with you.
"See you soon Reds!"
Does Bayindir Have a Future at Man Utd?
Bayındır's reluctance to bid farewell to United comes as a bit of a surprise given his minimal role over the past couple of seasons.
Since arriving in the summer of 2023 as one of Türkiye's finest goalkeepers, Bayındır accumulated just 17 appearances for United, serving primarily as a backup to André Onana and, more recently, Senne Lammens.
A number of unconvincing displays did little to enhance his standing at Old Trafford, and the signing of experienced keeper Karl Darlow on a free transfer indicated Bayındır would have no place in Michael Carrick's plans going forward.
United offered Celta a cut-price permanent transfer option which, while not guaranteed to be activated, looks highly likely to result in a full departure next summer should he put together a strong campaign in Spain's top division.
It appears United are prepared to move on from Bayındır, yet the tone of his farewell message suggests the feeling may not be shared, with the 28-year-old clearly having developed a deep connection with the Red Devils despite the underwhelming nature of his three-year stint at the club.

United are now reportedly turning their attention to outgoings as they seek to generate the funds necessary to sustain their summer transfer activity.
Adding complexity to the situation are wage increases for players on deals agreed under the previous ownership. With United back in the Champions League, a number of players have seen their salaries rise by as much as 25%.
Top earner Marcus Rashford is among those taking home more money this season. While United remain open to his departure, that prospect appears increasingly remote at this point in the summer window.
Doubts have emerged over the futures of Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot, but forward Joshua Zirkzee stands out as the most likely to leave, with Juventus reportedly keen on securing his services.
