Man Utd Target Rising Sporting CP Sensation to Solve Critical Squad Weakness—Report

Manchester United have held discussions regarding a potential transfer for Sporting CP winger Salvador Blopa, according to recent reports.

While there has been considerable transfer speculation, Amorim has not yet looked to his previous club for new signings at United. Viktor Gyökeres and Geovany Quenda moved to Arsenal and Chelsea respectively in the past year, while rumored connections to Ousmane Diomande and Morten Hjulmand failed to materialize.

This situation may be shifting as the Daily Mail reports that United are exploring a transfer for the 18-year-old Blopa as a possible wingback addition for Amorim's system.

Blopa progressed through Sporting's youth system during Amorim's time there and has only recently established himself in the first team this season, netting twice in a cup match on his debut before making five additional appearances in Portugal's top division and the Champions League.

His notable performances, though limited, have clearly attracted United's attention, with the Red Devils contemplating a move for the Portugal Under-19 representative to fulfill Amorim's desire for additional wingback options.

Blopa represents one of several targets for United, who are ready to invest this month to address the inconsistent performances that have characterized Amorim's period in charge so far.
