Manchester United shot-stopper Altay Bayındır is reportedly set to make a move to La Liga, joining Celta Vigo on a loan deal for the 2026–27 campaign.
Bayındır, who arrived at Old Trafford from Fenerbahçe back in September 2023, was never able to establish himself as a key figure at the club. Spending most of his time as a deputy to André Onana before being further sidelined by Senne Lammens, the goalkeeper managed only 17 appearances across three seasons.
His departure seemed all but inevitable, particularly after United brought in experienced goalkeeper Karl Darlow from Leeds United during the current summer window. Bayındır will now look to breathe new life into his career on Spanish soil.
The Athletic reports the Turkish shot-stopper is heading out on a season-long loan to Celta Vigo. The arrangement includes a purchase option valued at approximately €4 million (£3.4 million, $4.6 million), just €1 million short of the 28-year-old's original transfer fee three years prior.
The Spanish club will reportedly take on Bayındır's wages and also pay United additional bonuses should certain performance targets be achieved.

Bayındır's anticipated move coincides with Radek Vitek's looming exit. The 22-year-old, who claimed Bristol City's Player of the Year honor following a standout loan spell in the EFL Championship last season, is seeking more regular playing time and has attracted interest from Middlesbrough.
The Athletic reports United have agreed to sell Vitek to Middlesbrough for an initial fee of £7 million ($9.4 million), with the total potentially rising to £14 million ($18.9 million) if all performance bonuses are triggered.
The deal also features a sell-on clause of up to 35% for United, along with a buy-back option and matching rights.
Joining Vitek and Bayındır in departing Old Trafford is Onana. The 30-year-old has returned to Trabzonspor on loan after registering 40 appearances for the Turkish side last season. He will now share the pitch with Mohamed Salah, who is embarking on a new chapter of his career in Trabzon.
United Clearing Space for New Arrivals
Moving Bayındır's wages off the books and potentially collecting a transfer fee represents a shrewd financial move from United, who continue to grapple with the weight of numerous expensive, underperforming signings accumulated through years of poor recruitment.
Generating funds from Vitek's sale also helps, given that the Red Devils have already splashed out £83 million ($111 million) on just two players this summer: Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
