Manchester United Dramatically Cuts Garnacho Price Tag as Three Clubs Circle for Transfer Battle

Manchester United have reportedly reduced their valuation of Alejandro Garnacho by £20 million ($27 million) as they continue efforts to sell the Argentine winger.

Garnacho is among multiple players Manchester United want to move on from this summer. The 21-year-old lost his standing under Ruben Amorim during the previous campaign, netting only 10 goals across 58 matches in all competitions.

The winger's situation at Old Trafford deteriorated further following a public exchange of criticism between him and Amorim after Manchester United's Europa League disappointment. The mutual criticism from both coach and player indicated Garnacho's time at the club was effectively over.

Initially, the English club sought between £60 million ($80.9 million) and £70 million ($94.4 million) for Garnacho. However, his market value has reportedly dropped as Manchester United rush to rebuild their roster following a catastrophic 2024–25 campaign.

Reports from The Telegraph suggest the Red Devils have reduced their price tag to £40 million ($53.9 million) for the Argentina winger. This price cut comes as Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur express interest.

Alejandro Garnacho

Chelsea previously pursued Garnacho in January but have since strengthened their attack with Jamie Gittens, João Pedro, Estêvão Willian and Kendry Páez. Despite this, the Blues remain in contention for the Manchester United outcast, though Aston Villa or Spurs seem more probable destinations.

While Garnacho has attracted attention from foreign clubs, including Serie A titleholders Napoli, he allegedly prefers staying in the Premier League for the upcoming season.

As Manchester United consider their options, Garnacho was omitted from Amorim's lineup for their opening pre-season match against Leeds United. Marcus Rashford, who is close to joining Barcelona, was also absent, alongside Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia.

Amorim expects that offloading underperforming players and bringing in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo will help the Red Devils recover from their historic low of 15th place in the league last season.
