Manchester United Faces Massive Financial Hit as Jadon Sancho Transfer Saga Takes Costly Turn

Juventus has submitted an offer to Manchester United for winger Jadon Sancho valued at merely €15 million (£13 million, $17.5 million), according to Italian media reports.

Sancho is on the transfer market this summer following his return from a season-long loan spell at Chelsea, who paid £5 million ($6.8 million) to withdraw from their obligation to secure a permanent deal after negotiations over the player's personal terms broke down.

United are still eager to sell Sancho on a permanent basis, with Juventus now positioned as the primary interested party, though his salary demands are reportedly creating obstacles in discussions.

Juventus are attempting to secure Sancho at a reduced price and, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, they have now tabled a €15 million proposal.

The bid consists of an upfront payment of €10 million (£8.7 million, $11.7 million), with an additional €5 million (£4.3 million, $5.9 million) in performance-related bonuses.

United are willing to take a substantial financial hit on the £73 million ($101 million at the time) they invested to acquire Sancho in 2021, however their valuation is believed to be approximately double Juventus' current proposal.

It remains uncertain whether the Red Devils would consider accepting such a modest sum. While removing Sancho's substantial wages from their books is a priority, United also need to generate transfer revenue through player sales and may push for a higher valuation.

Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia are also among the players who have been allowed to postpone their pre-season return while seeking potential suitors.

United have already invested £62.5 million ($84.5 million) in Matheus Cunha and are facing a potentially higher cost for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, with additional plans to recruit a dedicated striker if adequate funds can be secured.
