Manchester United Finally Land Bryan Mbeumo After Dramatic Transfer Battle

Manchester United have confirmed the acquisition of Bryan Mbeumo as their newest summer recruit, with the Cameroon striker signing a deal that runs through June 2030.
The Red Devils and Brentford finalized an agreement on Friday valued at up to £71 million ($95.5 million). Reports from The Athletic indicate the transfer fee will be settled across four separate payments.
One of the summer's most prolonged transfer stories has reached its conclusion as Ruben Amorim secures another offensive reinforcement. During the transfer window, Mbeumo expressed his desire to move to Old Trafford despite interest from multiple Premier League sides.
The forward enjoyed an outstanding 2024–25 campaign with Brentford, netting 20 Premier League goals alongside seven assists. He featured in every league fixture, achieving this milestone for the second time in four seasons since the Bees' promotion in 2021. Mbeumo's contract includes an option for the club to extend by one additional year.
His 20-goal tally last term ranked fourth in the division, behind only Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak. He shared fourth place with Chris Wood.
"When I learned Manchester United were interested, I couldn't pass up the chance to join my childhood club; the team whose colors I supported as a young boy," Mbeumo stated. "Everyone spoke about the positive atmosphere being built here and the ambitious future plans. This is an enormous institution, with a magnificent stadium and passionate supporters, and we're all committed to competing for major honors."
Mbeumo becomes the fourth new Red Devils addition this summer, joining Matheus Cunha, Diego León and Enzo Kana-Biyik
. The Cameroonian is anticipated to feature alongside Cunha and Bruno Fernandes in the attacking unit. While his preferred position is on the right flank, he has demonstrated versatility across various forward roles during his English career.
Manchester United urgently required attacking reinforcements and this acquisition addresses that need effectively.
