Manchester United Racing Against Time to Activate Star Striker's Release Clause

Fiorentina's forward Moise Kean has turned down two lucrative proposals from Saudi Arabian clubs, while Manchester United's pursuit of the striker faces a critical deadline as his buyout clause nears expiration within the next day.

The Manchester-based club is seeking reinforcements in attack but has struggled to make significant headway in securing a proven goalscorer. Their long-standing target Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP now seems unattainable following his reported agreement with Arsenal.

Multiple sources, including The Athletic, have identified Kean as a potential acquisition for United, who are monitoring the Italian international following his outstanding campaign that saw him net 19 goals across 32 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina.

Should United wish to pursue Kean, they must act swiftly as his reasonably priced release clause of €52 million (£45 million, $60.7 million) is set to expire on July 15.

Sky Sports Italy reports that Kean has declined proposals from Al Hilal and Al Qadsiah, preferring to continue playing in Europe's top competitions, which could create opportunities for other interested clubs to make eleventh-hour bids.

Should Tuesday's cutoff date pass without incident, Fiorentina intends to present Kean with an enhanced contract that would nearly double his current salary. The Italian club faces no urgency to part ways with Kean, who remains under contract until 2029, suggesting any transfer would likely require activation of his release clause.

United's immediate attention is directed toward securing Brentford's versatile attacker Bryan Mbeumo, though talks have been prolonged regarding a potential deal that could reach approximately £70 million ($94.4 million) according to the Bees' valuation.

Following that pursuit, United is anticipated to concentrate on player departures. Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, and Tyrell Malacia are among those potentially available for transfer, as United seeks to generate sufficient funds for additional acquisitions before the transfer window concludes.

With the approaching deadline for Kean's release clause, it seems improbable that United will actively pursue the former Everton striker, though Fiorentina's asking price for a potential later deal in the window remains uncertain.
