Marcus Rashford Drops Bombshell Confession About Barcelona Move

Marcus Rashford has voiced his ambition to remain at Barcelona for an extended period following a positive beginning to his tenure at what he describes as an "incredible" club.

Rashford departed Manchester United to join the Catalan powerhouse for the 2025–26 campaign, with Barcelona holding a €30 million (£26.1 million, $35.3 million) option to secure his services permanently come next summer.

The England forward hasn't immediately claimed a regular starting position since his Barcelona arrival, but Hansi Flick urged Rashford to elevate his performance during Lamine Yamal's injury layoff, resulting in him netting a brace in Thursday evening's 2–1 Champions League victory against Newcastle United.

Rashford, who finds himself in this position following his disagreement with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United, was questioned about the potential duration of his Barcelona career.

"As many [seasons] as possible. We will see," he responded to TNT Sports. "I have to focus on trying to do my job and trying to help the team in whichever way I can."

Rashford further stated that adapting to Barcelona's philosophy is already enhancing his abilities as a footballer.

"I'm learning a lot," he commented. "It's a new style of football, but it's making me a better player. Honestly, it's an amazing experience. I've always been a huge admirer of Barcelona, every player my age has watched them play, it's amazing football."

Barcelona manager Flick indicated that when the opportunity to acquire Rashford emerged during the transfer window, there was immediate certainty.

"When we got this chance, it was okay, we have to do it," Flick recalled.

"I spoke with him before everything [happened]. I said: 'I want to have you in my team.' For me, he's an outstanding player. He had this strength that he can use. His speed, his control with the ball and his finishing is unbelievable."

Rashford returned the praise: "[Flick] is very important. I feel the confidence he's given me. I knew he was a top manager before I arrived here, but to work with him is a pleasure."

Teammate Frenkie de Jong told ZiggoSport that he believes Rashford "felt at home" in this team.
