Mbappe Claims Golden Glory and Vows Unwavering Commitment to Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappé expresses his desire to claim the European Golden Boot "multiple times" as a Real Madrid star following his presentation with the 2024–25 honor.

The 26-year-old forward's debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabéu concluded trophy-less as Barcelona secured a domestic treble under Hansi Flick's guidance. The Champions League trophy, meanwhile, went to Mbappe's previous club, Paris Saint-Germain, for their maiden triumph, leaving the French striker without silverware after his free transfer to the Spanish capital.

Despite the disappointments, Mbappé had reasons to celebrate. He netted 31 La Liga strikes during the season to solidify his status among the world's elite forwards, accumulating more points than any competitor in the race for European football's top scorer recognition.

Through a points-based system that accounts for league quality, Mbappé's strikes earned him 62 points—3.5 ahead of Viktor Gyökeres, currently at Arsenal, who received recognition for his 39 goals with Sporting CP in Portugal's premier division. Mohamed Salah finished third with 58 points following his 29 Premier League strikes for Liverpool.

"Receiving the Golden Boot brings me great joy," Mbappé stated. "This represents a significant milestone for me, marking my first victory in this competition. As a striker, this achievement holds tremendous value."

"Our squad is exceptional," Mbappé added. "My expectation is that we'll capture major honors this season. That remains our primary objective—securing team achievements. I aspire to remain here for numerous years and earn these accolades repeatedly."

Mbappé has also launched the 2025-26 campaign impressively, now playing under Xabi Alonso's leadership instead of Carlo Ancelotti. He's recorded 16 strikes across all tournaments in merely 13 matches, featuring 11 goals in La Liga competition.

His latest strike occurred against arch-rivals Barcelona during Madrid's 2–1 triumph in El Clásico—and Mbappé hopes his team, currently leading the table by five points, can maintain their strong form as he understands that personal accolades typically accompany team success.

"My hope is that we continue progressing collectively, because as I mention, the team remains paramount," Mbappé noted. "These individual honors are unattainable without my teammates. I recognize this fact. I want to express gratitude to the organization, medical staff, and support personnel who assist me both during matches and in preparation. My goal is to earn this recognition again next season—I've begun promisingly!"

Mbappé becomes the fourth Real Madrid athlete to capture the European Golden Boot, joining Hugo Sánchez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldo Nazario in this exclusive group.
