Mbappe Delivers Epic Comeback to Crush Wild Rumors in Style

Kylian Mbappé firmly dismissed recent allegations suggesting he had requested a starring role at the 2024 Paris Olympics through a cutting social media response.

If the Real Madrid striker personally addressed every rumor and speculation about him that emerges from various internet sources, he would lack time for any other activities. However, certain claims are too outrageous to ignore without response.

The French satirical publication Le Canard enchaîné alleged that Mbappé had been invited to serve as one of the torch carriers during the spectacular opening ceremony of last summer's Paris Olympics. The France national team captain reportedly turned down this privilege because he wouldn't have been the final torch bearer.

The article suggested that Mbappé was "undoubtedly let down at not being the focal point of the opening ceremony," before including the sarcastic remark: "One cannot always wear No. 10."

Three days following the publication of these claims, Mbappé responded to the story that had been shared on social media platforms. "LOL," was the Real Madrid striker's initial reaction.

"You failed to mention that I also desired to be the point guard for the French basketball squad," he added. "I believe... I was simply enjoying my holiday on the opposite side of the globe. No need to be the final torch bearer since I have no ties to the Olympics."

The summer of 2024 proved eventful for Mbappé. In May, he announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain when his contract expired on June 30. Early the next month, Mbappé officially joined Real Madrid, just two weeks before leading France in their European Championships opener.

Despite sustaining a nasal fracture during the tournament, a masked Mbappé guided his country to the competition's semifinals, where they fell to eventual winners Spain on July 9. The Olympics opening ceremony occurred on July 26.

If anything, Mbappé had demonstrated his excitement for the world's premier sporting event taking place in his hometown quite clearly. To his obvious frustration, it was Real Madrid's choice to prevent his involvement in the Olympic football competition.
