Messi Leads Star-Studded 2025 MLS Best XI Alongside USMNT Superstars

Major League Soccer has revealed this season's Best XI roster, headlined by 2025 MLS Golden Boot and MVP frontrunner Lionel Messi.

The 2025 MLS Best XI showcases the premier talent at every position after an exciting regular season campaign. Every player selected for this elite squad received votes from media representatives, MLS athletes, and club technical personnel.

Athletes from nine distinct clubs earned recognition this year, with Supporters' Shield champions Philadelphia Union and Vancouver Whitecaps each placing two players on the roster.

However, Inter Miami's single representative commands the spotlight. Messi is positioned to become MLS history's first consecutive MVP winner after tallying 48 goal contributions during regular season play.

USMNT Athletes Dominate 2025 MLS Best XI

Sebastian Berhalter

Four United States men's national team members feature in the 2025 MLS Best XI. Alex Freeman, who appeared in virtually every minute of this summer's Gold Cup tournament, secured his spot following an outstanding campaign with Orlando City that earned him MLS All-Star status and the MLS Young Player of the Year award.

Accompanying him in the defensive line is Tristan Blackmon, who claimed MLS Defender of the Year honors for his impact on Vancouver Whitecaps' solid defensive unit.

Sebastian Berhalter, another athlete who caught Mauricio Pochettino's attention during the Gold Cup, occupies a midfield position for his contribution to Vancouver's record-breaking points total (63) and scoring output (66).

Cristian Roldan claims the spot next to his American midfield partner. The Seattle Sounders star helped drive the team to its 2025 Leagues Cup championship and recently provided two assists in the USMNT's 2–1 triumph over Australia.
