Mikel Arteta Fires Back: Arsenal Boss Dismisses Rosenior's Criticism as 'Irrelevant'
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has issued an apology to Chelsea's Liam Rosenior regarding claims of inappropriate behavior prior to the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, though he brushed off the matter as unimportant.
After being filmed delivering an expletive-filled outburst at an Arsenal staff member who ventured into Chelsea's territory before the 1–0 loss, Rosenior claimed the Gunners personnel deliberately attempted to disrupt his team's preparation routine.
"That's his viewpoint and naturally we show respect to everyone, and if any of our staff members [stepped over the center line], we offer our apologies and that concludes it," Arteta responded.
"This happens frequently in football, particularly with goalkeepers, as they need to practice long-range kicks and similar exercises, so there's nothing more to discuss.
"I prefer to focus on matters that, from my perspective, are significant for the squad, and what benefits the team and the organization."

Following Rosenior's heated exchange, the newly appointed Chelsea manager has encountered significant backlash for his behavior.
His profanity-laden remarks, captured on video, potentially overstepped boundaries and some observers have interpreted them as signs of Rosenior feeling pressure ahead of such an important match.
Arteta is familiar with scrutiny regarding his own conduct. The Arsenal manager frequently faces accusations of employing tactical gamesmanship and many have questioned Arteta's sideline demeanor.
"At times it's challenging because we can't maintain constant awareness of everything, and we're human and respond to situations, so I believe it's understandable," Arteta observed. "I strive to set the proper standard consistently, and if that's the goal, then it's acceptable."
Both London clubs return to Premier League competition on Saturday. Arsenal welcome Sunderland at 3 p.m (GMT), coinciding with Chelsea's visit to struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers.
