Mikel Arteta Issues Bold Ultimatum as Arsenal Charge Toward Historic 123-Year Record

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has cautioned his squad about overconfidence as they look to become the first Gunners side to win their opening eight matches of a season since 1903.

Since launching the campaign with a commanding 3–0 victory over Manchester City in the Community Shield, Arsenal have not slowed down. They are among just two teams to maintain a perfect four-from-four record in the Premier League this season, while Napoli and Ipswich Town have also been dispatched in the Champions League and Carabao Cup, respectively.

A win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday would see Arsenal equal a club record dating back to 1903, but Arteta stressed that his players must not lose focus chasing a place in the history books.

"We have a very difficult opponent tomorrow, so we'll need to earn the right to win the match," he cautioned. "But that will absolutely be the mindset of the players and the team."
