Following his second yellow card of the campaign on Saturday, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta revealed he is "clipping" footage of other Premier League managers who also venture outside their technical areas without receiving any punishment.
The Spanish tactician was booked in the 64th minute of the Gunners' 2–0 victory against Everton at the Emirates Stadium. Arteta wandered beyond his designated touchline zone to earn his second booking of the season—the first having come for a comparable offense at Sunderland back in September.
The manager, who is consistently animated and reactive along the touchline, feels he is being treated unfairly by officials in comparison to his counterparts in the English top flight.
"I do have to be careful," Arteta said when questioned about his booking during his post-match press conference. "And we need to have good sensors there. There are managers that have the record in the league, 36 times in 10 minutes leave the touchline, no yellows.
"So I'm clipping all of that. I have a massive storage of images. So if somebody is going to say, 'I'm not in the record yet, somebody else has the record.'
"Then it's 36 yellow cards in 10 minutes for the manager. I don't know where we're going to be. Let's see."
The Punishments Facing Arteta For His Touchline Antics

On its own, a manager receiving a yellow card is not particularly significant, provided another one doesn't follow before the final whistle. However, accumulating multiple bookings across several matches carries real consequences.
Three yellow cards for a manager results in an automatic one-game suspension. Six bookings lead to a two-match ban, while nine cautions carry a penalty of three matches spent watching from the stands.
It is only late October and Arteta already has two to his name. The next time he is booked, he will face a one-match suspension, leaving Arsenal without their manager on the touchline for whichever fixture comes next on the calendar.
Even if Arteta pulls a José Mourinho and arrives at a press conference armed with his "massive storage of images" to argue his case, he will still be compelled to watch proceedings from the stands.
Arteta Lashes Out at Arsenal's 'Terrible' Schedule

Arteta had further grievances to air in his post-match press conference despite Arsenal's hard-fought win over Everton. The 44-year-old barely savored the result that drew his side level with Manchester City at the top of the table before turning his attention to the club's fixture congestion.
"We're very happy with the victory, the performance and the week, because we were given a terrible schedule," Arteta said. "Playing Sunday afternoon, then Wednesday night in Munich, coming here really late on Thursday and then having to play again in the Premier League against a really tough opponent on Saturday at 3 p.m.
"We have overcome some injuries, and I'm really proud of the mentality of the team in the conditions today."
The reigning Premier League champions remained unbeaten throughout that stretch, beating Nottingham Forest the previous weekend before earning a 2–2 draw with Bayern Munich in midweek and then overcoming Everton on Saturday.
There is little time to breathe, however, as Arsenal face a Carabao Cup tie against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The silver lining is that Arteta can rotate heavily against the League Two outfit, keeping his key players fresh ahead of a showdown with Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, Nov. 1.
