Milan Pursues Real Madrid Star as Luka Modric Gives Green Light for Potential Transfer

AC Milan are said to be holding talks with Real Madrid left-back Fran García's representative regarding a potential move as they seek to find a successor for Theo Hernández.
The Italian giants parted ways with their star defender Hernández when he joined Al Hilal during the summer window, leaving them needing to secure a replacement for the dynamic French international, who publicly questioned the club's sporting direction and principles following his exit.
While Brighton & Hove Albion's Pervis Estupiñán remains among Milan's defensive targets for the left flank, Spanish outlet AS reports that they are also showing considerable interest in Madrid's García.
The 25-year-old's representative, Ginés Carvajal, has allegedly been in dialogue with Milan regarding a possible move for his player, though the Italian club are reluctant to exceed €30 million ($35 million) for their next left-back acquisition.

Following a strong performance at the FIFA Club World Cup in America, García has found himself lower in Madrid's hierarchy due to the recent acquisition of Álvaro Carreras from Benfica, while also facing competition from established option Ferland Mendy.
Carvajal, who represents both Carreras and García, may look to facilitate García's departure this summer, with the agent initiating contact with Milan. Nevertheless, discussions remain at the stage of "preliminary enquiries and conversations" regarding any potential deal.
Real Madrid icon Luka Modrić has moved to Milan as a free agent this summer after his Santiago Bernabéu contract expired, with the experienced playmaker reportedly endorsing García's potential arrival. He might even "advocate" for the defender's recruitment.
Returning Milan boss Max Allegri must determine what type of left-back he requires this summer, as the Italian outfit also looks to strengthen their right-back position. Following his impressive Club World Cup displays, García could represent an astute signing.
