MLS All-Star Powerhouses: Which Teams Dominate the 2025 Roster?

The lineup has been finalized for the 2025 MLS All-Star Game, though not every franchise secured representation for their athletes, as just 15 clubs will be sending their standout performers to the exhibition match against Liga MX's elite in Austin.
Sitting atop the MLS Western Conference when the squad was revealed, Vancouver Whitecaps FC emerged as the only organization to place four athletes on the roster and stands as the sole Canadian franchise with any representation.
This marks the Whitecaps' second All-Star Game participation since 2016, following only the injured Ryan Gauld's selection in 2024. Throughout the club's 14-season MLS tenure, merely seven players have previously earned roster spots.
Among their four selections, covering at least one position each, three secured their places through the 12-player MLS All-Star Fan Vote, while Austin FC's head coach Nico Estévez chose one as part of his 12 Coach's Selections.
The Whitecaps contingent features Japanese netminder Yohei Takaoka alongside the American trio of defender Tristan Blackmon, midfielder Sebastian Berhalter, and forward Brian White, with two having represented the U.S. national squad at the Gold Cup.

Meanwhile, newcomers San Diego FC boast three roster spots, including Denmark's Anders Dreyer and Mexico's Hirving Lozano, who have emerged as two of MLS's premier wing players this campaign, along with Danish midfielder Jeppe Tverskov.
Beyond these two Western Conference leaders, six franchises earned dual representation, with Inter Miami leading this group through Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba, joined by Austin FC, Columbus Crew SC, FC Cincinnati, Minnesota United, and Philadelphia Union.
Charlotte FC, Chicago Fire FC, LAFC, Nashville SC, Orlando City SC, Real Salt Lake, and Portland Timbers will each contribute one athlete, completing the squad that will face Liga MX's finest in both the July 22 MLS All-Star Skills Competition and July 23 MLS All-Star Game, as MLS seeks redemption following last season's 4–1 defeat to the Liga MX selection.
