Netherlands head coach Ronald Koeman has officially unveiled his 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, with Premier League talent dominating the selection.
The Oranje are considered one of the tournament's dark horses this summer, aiming to make a historic run through North America and claim their first-ever World Cup title. While they may lack the marquee names of tournament favorites like Spain or France, Koeman's side is nonetheless packed with experienced, high-quality players.
Of the 26 selected players, 15 are based in the Premier League, with representatives from Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, Sunderland, and recently relegated West Ham United all earning their places.
The Oranje open their campaign against Japan on June 14, followed by fixtures against Sweden and Tunisia. The Netherlands are widely tipped to top Group F given the quality available to Koeman.

Surprise Inclusions Lead to Difficult Omissions

Koeman's squad contains few genuinely contentious picks. Established names such as Virgil van Dijk, Memphis Depay, and Denzel Dumfries, along with talented players like Ryan Gravenberch, Frenkie de Jong, and Tijjani Reijnders, were always certainties for the Netherlands this summer.
However, there were a few eyebrow-raising selections, most notably Crysencio Summerville. The 23-year-old has yet to earn a senior cap for the Oranje, but his tally of seven goals and three assists for West Ham this season was enough to secure him a spot at the tournament.
Jurriën Timber is another notable inclusion in Koeman's plans. The Arsenal full-back has been sidelined since March with a complicated groin injury, and significant doubts remain over his fitness and availability. Nevertheless, his outstanding performances for the Gunners prior to the setback convinced Koeman to take a chance on him.
Accommodating these selections inevitably meant a high-profile casualty, and that unfortunate distinction fell to right-back Jeremie Frimpong. A combination of injuries and disappointing form made his debut season at Liverpool one to forget, ultimately costing him a place in the 2026 World Cup squad.
