New Man City Star Explains Why Snubbing Tottenham Was a No-Brainer

Manchester City's latest acquisition Iliman Ndiaye admitted he had no hesitation in joining the eight-time Premier League title holders, despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The transfer fee for Ndiaye could reach close to $88 million for Everton, with the 26-year-old having contributed 21 goals and assists across 74 appearances for the club, frequently wowing fans with his electrifying pace and skill.

Spurs had appeared poised to complete their attacking overhaul with the Senegalese international, with reports surfacing following their 2–0 loss to Newcastle United that an agreement had been reached. However, City swiftly swooped in ahead of them, with the player suggesting he was always destined to choose the Etihad club once their pursuit became apparent.

"I always say whatever comes, comes. God decides your future; it's already written. I was just being patient, and when City came through, I was buzzing," Ndiaye said, in quotes relayed by the Manchester Evening News.

"This is where I think I belong. I've worked hard to get to this point. When I was speaking with my wife, I was telling her that if I had to leave Everton, it would be somewhere where I know I would be playing Champions League," he added.
