Nottingham Forest and Leeds United will both be looking to hit the ground running in the 2026–27 Premier League season following challenging campaigns that had both sides hovering dangerously close to the drop zone.
There was very little to choose between the two sides last season, with Leeds finishing just three points clear and netting only one additional goal. Each team claimed a 3-1 victory in their respective home fixture, and the all-time head-to-head record is equally close: Forest hold 37 wins compared to Leeds' 33.
Preseason has done little to settle the debate. Forest defeated Bayer Leverkusen and Brest but fell to Barcelona and Udinese, while Leeds impressed with victories over Liverpool, RB Leipzig and Augsburg, yet suffered a penalty shootout defeat to Manchester United and a shock loss to Wrexham.
With both clubs having been active in the transfer window, this looks set to be another contest where very little separates the two sides.
