Pep Guardiola Breaks His Own Vow With Defiant Statement on Man City's 115 Charges

Pep Guardiola is nothing short of fiercely devoted. The highly decorated former Manchester City manager has finally spoken out following the official ruling that the club were found guilty of over 100 violations of the Premier League's financial rules, doubling down on his unwavering backing of the entire organization — despite having previously suggested otherwise.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that City had orchestrated "sham contracts," "sham commercial agreements" and various other "sham arrangements" across nine seasons of calculated, deliberate and continuously shifting deception. Guardiola's time at the Etihad spanned the final two seasons covered by the investigation (2016–18), a period during which City claimed the Premier League title with a record-breaking 100 points.

Nevertheless, his entire managerial tenure in England has been overshadowed by the revelation that the players under his charge were acquired using funds facilitated by a "disguised funding scheme."

City have hit back strongly against these findings, claiming they possess "a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence" to establish their "innocence." Guardiola's statement was less combative in tone, yet he stood firmly behind the club he led for a decade.

"I want every single Man City fan to know I am here; more than ever," Guardiola, who was appointed as a Global Ambassador for City Football Group (CFG) during the summer, posted on X.

"I am, always have been, always will, be behind my club, my owner, my chairman, Ferran [Soriano], the players, staff, Enzo [Maresca] and you, our unique supporters. Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all."
