Premier League Fixture Release: When Will Fans Know Their Team's Schedule?

Football enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to this summer, though the Club World Cup excitement hasn't quite taken off as expected.

Following an exhausting campaign where broadcasters emphasized the record number of live Premier League matches available, everyone deserves a well-earned break.

The 2024–25 campaign concluded just weeks ago, but with the transfer window opening early and the Premier League's fixture announcement, attention has already shifted to the 2025–26 season.

Fresh fixture lists generate undeniable excitement, albeit briefly, as fans mark important derby matches and calculate potential points across six, ten, 20, and eventually all 38 games. These predictions will soon become reality when the Premier League 2025–26 fixtures are unveiled on Wednesday, June 18.

But when exactly will this happen?

When Will the Premier League 2025–26 Fixtures Be Announced?

The Premier League will unveil all 380 match dates for the upcoming season, with each club's complete schedule being revealed at 9 a.m. BST.

This timing allows UK commuters to review the schedules during their morning journey, while American fans will wake up on Wednesday to social media buzzing with reactions from across the Atlantic. The fixtures will drop at 4 a.m. ET and 1 a.m. PT.

The 2025–26 Premier League campaign is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Aug. 16 (though a Friday evening match is possible) and conclude on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

How Did the 2024–25 Season Begin?

Last season's Premier League opening weekend stretched across four days, beginning with Manchester United's characteristically unconvincing 1–0 victory against Fulham at Old Trafford during Sky Sports' Friday Night Football.

Future champions Liverpool commenced their campaign with a composed 2–0 triumph at newly-promoted Ipswich Town in Saturday's early kick-off, while Arsenal, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Newcastle United secured comfortable wins against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Everton, and Southampton respectively.

Nottingham Forest began their season with a home stalemate against Bournemouth, and Saturday's proceedings ended with Aston Villa claiming a 2–1 victory away at West Ham United.

The weekend's standout fixture featured defending champions Manchester City visiting Chelsea for Enzo Maresca's Premier League debut. The Italian manager faced his former boss Pep Guardiola, with the experienced tactician emerging victorious in west London as ex-Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovačić shone in a 2–0 success.

Earlier on Sunday, Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo foreshadowed their excellent partnership throughout the season by both scoring in Brentford's 2–1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Monday evening saw Tottenham Hotspur control proceedings at the King Power Stadium but somehow managed to surrender points in a 1–1 stalemate with Leicester City.

Clubs With the Strongest Opening Day Performance

Several teams should be approached with caution on opening day, particularly Man Utd.

The Red Devils maintained their excellent Matchday 1 form in the Premier League last season, boasting the highest opening-day success rate among all teams participating in next season's competition at 66.7%. Brighton (eight matches) and Chelsea (33 matches) are the only other clubs with opening-day win rates of 60% or above.

Fellow 'Big Six' clubs Arsenal (57.6%), Liverpool (57.6%), and Manchester City (57.1%) also possess strong first-day records, while Tottenham Hotspur (39.4%) have found opening fixtures more challenging. Spurs have secured victory in 13 of 33 opening-day encounters, suffering defeat in 11.

Reigning champions Liverpool will seek to uphold the remarkable opening-day tradition of previous season winners. Premier League title holders have triumphed 83.3% of the time on Matchday 1, experiencing defeat on merely seven occasions since 1992–93.
