PSG Manager Luis Enrique Rushed to Hospital Following Serious Cycling Crash

Paris Saint-Germain announced that head coach Luis Enrique was hospitalized following a collarbone fracture sustained in a bicycle accident on Friday. The Spanish manager will need surgical intervention.
Enrique is a passionate cycling enthusiast. The former Real Madrid and Barcelona player notably revealed his Spain roster for the 2022 World Cup through a creative video featuring player names displayed on the cycling routes he was traversing.
It could be considerable time before he returns to cycling after this unfortunate mishap. PSG issued a brief statement Friday evening detailing the circumstances. "After a cycling incident that took place this Friday, Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique received emergency medical attention and will undergo surgical treatment for a collarbone fracture," the statement indicated.
"Paris Saint-Germain expresses complete solidarity with Luis Enrique and hopes for his swift recovery. The Club will provide additional updates in due course."

The location of Enrique's cycling accident remains unknown, though he's previously tackled challenging terrain. "I don't fear the worst outcomes in football... if I'm dismissed, it's fine," he previously reflected. "The following day, I'll embark on a cycling adventure." This scenario played out when he departed from Spain's national team in December 2022.
The fitness devotee participated in South Africa's Absa Cape Epic during March 2023. This grueling eight-day mountain bike challenge covers approximately 700km with 16,000m of elevation gain. Undaunted, Enrique shared an image of himself smiling beneath a coating of dirt during the competition.
The timeline for Enrique's return to the sidelines remains uncertain.
PSG have launched their domestic season flawlessly but confront challenging matches approaching quickly. Following their Champions League title defense opener against Atalanta on September 17, the French powerhouse meets bitter rivals Marseille in this season's inaugural 'Le Classique.' Additionally, a visit to Enrique's previous club Barcelona is set for October 1.
