The moment has arrived. Mauricio Pochettino has announced the 26-man squad that will carry the U.S. men's national team's hopes at the 2026 World Cup.
At a special ceremony held at Pier 17 in New York City, the USMNT's 26-player 2026 World Cup roster was officially revealed, with each player introduced one by one during a nationally broadcast event.
With the festivities concluded, Pochettino will kick off training with his 26-man group on Wednesday, having just over two weeks to prepare before their tournament opener against Paraguay on June 12. The USMNT will then take on Australia before wrapping up their group stage campaign against Türkiye.
Warm-up matches against Senegal on May 31 and Germany on June 6 will give Pochettino the opportunity to make his final evaluations ahead of the tournament's start.
Tuesday, however, was a day where 26 players saw their World Cup aspirations become reality, and it wasn't long before they began sharing their emotions upon learning they'd be representing the U.S. at a home World Cup.
Pulisic: Home World Cup 'Just That Much More Special'
AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic will don the USMNT's No. 10 shirt in his second World Cup appearance. Pulisic stands as the USMNT's primary source of optimism this summer, and he made no effort to conceal his excitement about competing in the tournament on home soil, where he vowed to step up when it matters most.
"All I can do is give my best," Pulisic said. "I'm so proud to represent this country and I'm going to do my best to make you guys [U.S. fans] proud and I'm just thankful that you guys support me.
"I'm trying to take it all in and enjoy the moment the best I can. It's another World Cup, there's no need for extra motivation, but having my friends, my family around and just being on home soil ... it makes it just that much more special."
"I am so proud to represent this country!"

Tim Ream, one of the USMNT's veteran leaders, sent a message to his fellow players, urging them "to enjoy all of what this is, embrace what this is and enjoy every moment."
The only player absent from the event was defender Chris Richards. The 2025 USMNT Player of the Year is focused on the UEFA Conference League final with Crystal Palace, but he made a point of sending a video message expressing his enthusiasm for the tournament ahead.
"So ecstatic, super happy that I get to be part of this group," Richards said. "I'm ready to get to work, to win some games, go far and hopefully lift the trophy by the end."
USMNT Players React on Social Media to World Cup Call-Up

Shortly after the roster reveal event concluded, players began posting celebratory messages across social media.
Fullback Sergiño Dest wrote, "Honored to represent [the U.S.] in the World Cup for the 2nd time in my career! I'll give everything for this badge! Let's come all together, we need y'all support! And lets make it a great run!"
In a video shared by the Vancouver Whitecaps capturing the moment midfielder Sebastian Berhalter learned of his inclusion, an emotional Berhalter thanked his teammates for helping him make his "dream come true."
Among the most surprising selections in the USMNT squad was Mexican-American forward Alex Zendejas. The Club América star, who has impressed in Liga MX, reposted an Instagram story from his father that simply read, "God is soooo good."
Folarin Balogun, Malik Tillman, Gio Reyna and Matt Turner were among the other squad members who took to social media to acknowledge and celebrate their inclusion in the World Cup roster.
The players will be hoping for even more reasons to celebrate this summer, as they look to put on a memorable performance for the passionate fans filling stadiums across the nation.
