Rasmus Hojlund Declares Bold Vision for His Manchester United Career
Rasmus Højlund is optimistic about closing the chapter on his Manchester United career as he sets his sights on a permanent transfer to Napoli.
The Danish striker initially resisted leaving Old Trafford during the summer window, openly expressing his commitment to remain and rejecting numerous loan proposals. However, Benjamin Šeško's acquisition and manager Ruben Amorim's continued exclusion of him from matchday rosters prompted a change of heart.
Højlund ultimately agreed to Napoli's loan proposal, which features a conditional clause to secure a permanent transfer depending on the club's final position in Serie A.
Though his long-term future remains uncertain, Højlund told La Repubblica that he's optimistic about establishing himself in Naples for multiple seasons, following years of moving between different nations early in his professional journey.

"I previously had a stint in Austria as well, after departing Denmark during my youth," he explained. "Despite being only 22, I've accumulated considerable experience. However, I'm now settled in Naples and intend to remain here."
Højlund featured for United's senior squad across two seasons but failed to match the performances that persuaded the Red Devils to invest £72 million ($96.2 million) for his services. His tally of 26 goals across 95 appearances was decent but didn't meet anticipated standards.
"The style of play here emphasizes tactics heavily, featuring numerous one-on-one battles," Højlund observed about Serie A football. "In contrast, the Premier League maintains a slightly faster tempo: players are quick, powerful, and physically dynamic. If I were to highlight one distinction between these competitions, it would be exactly that aspect."
Højlund found the net in his inaugural Napoli appearance, contributing to an excellent beginning under Antonio Conte's leadership as they aim to retain their championship crown.
