Real Betis Director Sparks Transfer Excitement with Promising Antony Update as Man Utd Winger Move Gains Momentum

Real Betis continue to harbor hopes of bringing back Manchester United winger Antony, after his impressive loan spell with the Andalusian side during the latter half of the previous campaign, as confirmed by sporting director Manu Fajardo.

The Brazilian experienced a renaissance in the green and white stripes, recording 14 goals and assists across 26 matches, contributing to Betis's journey to the UEFA Conference League final.

Antony has returned to Old Trafford, where he was excluded from pre-season activities to allow him time to secure a new destination. Nevertheless, his situation remains uncertain, despite mutual interest in a return to the Estadio Benito Villamarín.

Financial constraints regarding a permanent deal have prevented Betis from progressing, though sporting director Manu Fajardo informed media during new signing Nelson Deossa's presentation that securing Antony's services remains a priority if the economics align.

"Both sides want the player to be here," Fajardo stated.

"Each passing day brings positive developments, and if Antony joins us, it's because he fits our budget. The crucial aspect is the club's financial stability, ensuring players and all Real Betis Balompié family members receive their payments. Ambition is important, but we must remain realistic and operate within our projected financial limits."

Betis must still depend on player exits to create the necessary room for Antony. "We'll assess how much capacity we have to complete our planning," Fajardo clarified.

Betis center-back Natan has also voiced optimism about Antony's potential return.

"Hopefully he can rejoin us for another season or two. Yes, he's waiting and we're all waiting. I believe it's not just me, but all of Betis. I hope he arrives. Let's see, I remain optimistic," the winger's fellow Brazilian told El Chiringuito in Spain.

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville stated in June that while Antony struggled to adapt to Premier League football and English playing styles, he is "perfectly suited" to La Liga's different requirements.

"There's a distinct tactical understanding and technical skill level [in Spain] that better matches his abilities," Neville commented on It's Called Soccer. "Players like Kléberson or Diego Forlán experienced similar situations; things didn't work out [in England], but they enjoyed successful careers elsewhere. Forlán was outstanding in Spain - some players simply don't fit certain leagues."

However, if a Real Betis move proves unfeasible, alternative destinations may emerge for Antony, despite his strong preference for Betis. According to Sky Sports, his representative hasn't dismissed Saudi Arabia, though the player allegedly turned down two offers from the oil-rich league last month.
