Real Madrid remain optimistic about cutting Vinícius Jr's four-match ban and are determined to pursue every available option to contest the punishment.
The Brazilian star is currently serving a four-game suspension following a straight red card during Madrid's 1–0 victory against Villarreal.
Vinícius Jr initially thought he had extended his side's lead to 2–0 after converting from Jude Bellingham's pass midway through the second half. However, a VAR review ruled the goal out and the Madrid No. 7 was dismissed for pulling the hair of Villarreal's Nathan Saliba in the build-up to the chance.
The incident represented the low point of Vinícius's campaign so far, with the attacker struggling to find his best form in 2026–27.
He has managed just one goal in 10 appearances and has faced criticism for underwhelming performances. Manager José Mourinho described Vinícius Jr's difficult spell as "heartbreaking," while the player himself has confessed: "I'm angry with myself for not being at my best."
Madrid Plan to Keep Up Appeals

Vinícius has already sat out Sunday's 4–1 triumph over Sevilla and is set to miss the next three La Liga games—Barcelona (Oct. 25), Racing Santander (Nov. 1) and Valencia (Nov. 7).
However, according to SPORT, Madrid view the ban as "excessive" and have "not yet completely ruled out" the chance of having the 26-year-old available in time for the Valencia fixture as they continue to pursue the appeals process.
Madrid's initial appeal to the RFEF Appeals Committee was rejected last week, after the committee determined there was no clear and obvious error in the referee's call.
Vinícius received a two-match ban for the incident itself, with an additional two games added for reacting in "an aggressive manner" toward referee Isidro Díaz de Mera.
Madrid Seek 'Provisional Measures'

Following the RFEF Appeals Committee's dismissal of Real Madrid's challenge, the club's final option is to bring their case before the Sports Administrative Tribunal (TAD), hoping for an outcome that would see Vinícius available for the Valencia match.
While the TAD holds the authority to overturn or reduce the ban, SPORT's report indicates Madrid are also weighing up a request for "provisional measures" that would temporarily lift the suspension, enabling Vinícius to return to La Liga action while the case is under review.
As it stands, Vinícius Jr remains ineligible for La Liga selection until after the November international break, when his side take on Celta Vigo on Nov. 22.
How Vinícius Jr's Ban Changes Real Madrid Lineup

In Madrid's first outing without Vinícius, the Brazilian's absence was barely felt as Mourinho's side cruised to a 4–1 home win against Sevilla on Sunday.
Arda Güler, who has frequently played on the right flank, was shifted into a deeper position as one of two midfield pivots, with Yan Diomande and Endrick deployed out wide.
Summer arrival Diomande shone in Vinícius's favored left-wing role, netting a thunderous late strike and also contributing an assist in the convincing victory. The 19-year-old Ivorian completed the most dribbles in the game and shared the most touches in the opposition's penalty area.
Diomande is the most obvious like-for-like replacement for Vinícius Jr on the left, while Endrick, Brahim Díaz and Güler are all capable of operating from the right.
Should Mourinho opt to make further adjustments, Mbappé could be shifted out to the wing—a position he has frequently filled for his national team—with either Endrick or Carlos Espí leading the line as the central striker.
