Real Madrid Legend Delivers Stunning Snub to Vinicius Jr. and Mbappe in Explosive Player Rankings

Former Real Madrid center-back Jesús Vallejo has placed Rodrygo ahead of both Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappé when evaluating the technical abilities of his former high-profile teammates at the Spanish giants.
The 28-year-old defender became somewhat of a beloved figure at Madrid despite limited playing time. Throughout his decade-long tenure at the club, Vallejo accumulated merely 35 senior appearances. The frequent substitute was named in 47 matchday squads during the 2024–25 season, though he only managed 136 minutes of actual playing time.
Vallejo's most memorable contribution came through his involvement in Madrid's tactical time-wasting masterpiece during their 2022 Champions League semifinal clash with Manchester City.
Following his permanent transfer to second-division side Albacete this summer, the Spanish defender shared his thoughts on the exceptional quality of players he trained alongside in a conversation with AS.
While praising Dani Carvajal's human qualities as making him a "natural leader" and describing the fearless Fede Valverde as a "competitive beast," Vallejo unexpectedly elevated Rodrygo above all others regarding technical prowess.

When questioned about which player made the "greatest impact" on him from a technical standpoint, his response was immediate. "Rodrygo," Vallejo stated. "During small-sided training sessions, he showcased incredible talent. He captivated me."
Despite suggestions of Vinicius and Mbappé as potential contenders for this distinction, Vallejo remained steadfast. "In that regard, absolutely [Rodrygo is technically superior]. He possesses exceptional ability and remarkable qualities for football."
The speedy Brazilian forward finds himself at the center of widespread transfer rumors. Numerous Premier League clubs have reportedly shown interest in the allegedly unsettled winger, who found himself sharing Vallejo's bench role during significant portions of the Club World Cup.
"I prefer not to meddle in matters that aren't my concern," Vallejo stated when asked about his former colleague's future, "but Rodrygo has already demonstrated his value and has done so reliably. Should he return to peak form, he ought to remain a crucial player for Madrid for years ahead."
Another player who has already departed Madrid alongside Vallejo is Luka Modrić. The AC Milan newcomer was praised as "an inspiration to all" by the departing defender.
"Antonio Pintus, our fitness trainer at Madrid, would express amazement watching Luka train and compete, noting his physical capabilities and the metrics he produced," Vallejo disclosed. "He described his physiology as extraordinary. Luka was always first to arrive at the Ciudad Deportiva, maintained exceptional physical condition, and it's no accident he's reached this stage in such form."
