Real Madrid Star Pours Heart Out in Tearful Goodbye to 'Club of My Life'

Lucas Vázquez spoke to supporters after his exit from Real Madrid was officially confirmed.
Vázquez, similar to midfielder Luka Modrić, had his deal run out on June 30 but accepted a brief extension to play for the team during their US tour. While it was common knowledge he would leave permanently this summer, no official announcement had been made until this moment.
Following Los Blancos describing him as "one of our club's greatest legends", Vázquez delivered a heartfelt goodbye to Madrid, where he spent his complete professional journey except for a single loan spell at Espanyol.
"Dear Real Madrid supporters, nearly twenty years have passed since I joined Valdebebas at age 16, filled with aspirations and eagerness to don this jersey," Vázquez wrote in his social media message. "Each moment was precious, and gradually, Real Madrid became my sanctuary.
"We shared incredible evenings, captured 23 trophies and created memories that will forever stay with me. My sincere gratitude goes to the president, executive board, personnel, managers, fellow players and most importantly, the supporters. You consistently motivated me to exceed expectations. Now, following over 400 matches, it's time to bid farewell to my beloved club, though I depart with contentment, knowing I contributed everything possible.

"I've consistently understood the duty and honor that accompanies representing this emblem. I've cherished every match, training session, journey... and if this experience has shown me anything, it's that determination alone defines your limits. I'm departing Real Madrid, yet Real Madrid will forever remain within me. No matter where I venture, I'll declare with pride that I had the privilege of representing the world's finest team. Thank you for accompanying me through life's most wonderful adventure. Hala Madrid and nothing else!"
Vázquez leaves Madrid after recording 402 total appearances across all tournaments, placing him joint 25th in the club's historical records.
What lies ahead for Vázquez is still uncertain. He's been connected with returning to Espanyol, though sources suggest he's declined joining any other Spanish league team out of loyalty to Madrid.
A transfer to Major League Soccer has been discussed, while Qatar's Al Gharafa are reportedly keen on reuniting him with ex-Madrid colleague Joselu.
