Real Madrid Stars Suffer Crushing Injuries Following Liverpool Loss
Real Madrid's central midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni has sustained a hamstring problem, confirmed by the club just 48 hours following Los Blancos' setback at Anfield.
Tchouaméni featured for the full 90 minutes during Real Madrid's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday night. The French international has been in the starting lineup for all except one of Los Blancos' 15 fixtures across various tournaments this campaign.
The extensive playing time appears to have taken its toll on Tchouaméni. The Madrid outfit revealed that the 25-year-old has sustained "damage to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh."
While the club hasn't provided a specific return date, ESPN suggests the midfielder faces approximately three weeks on the sidelines, which would exclude him from France's upcoming international fixtures this month.
Tchouaméni has emerged as a crucial figure for Real Madrid during the 2025-26 campaign. The ex-Monaco player, who spent most of the previous season deputizing as a central defender, has returned to his natural midfield role and is delivering outstanding performances under Xabi Alonso's guidance.
With Tchouaméni unavailable, the Spanish manager will turn to Eduardo Camavinga to fill the void left by his compatriot. Alonso will also welcome the return of Trent Alexander-Arnold on the right side, allowing Federico Valverde to move back into central midfield.
How Many Games Will Tchouameni Miss for Real Madrid?

If Tchouaméni remains absent for the anticipated three-week period, he will be unavailable for three Real Madrid matches spanning both domestic and European competitions.
Opponent | Date | Competition |
|---|---|---|
Rayo Vallecano (A) | Sunday, Nov. 9 | La Liga |
Elche (A) | Sunday, Nov. 23 | La Liga |
Olympiacos (A) | Wednesday, Nov. 26 | Champions League |
Should Tchouaméni experience complications and require longer than three weeks for full recovery, he might also be absent for Los Blancos' journey to Catalonia against Girona on Sunday, Nov. 30.
With the November international break approaching, Tchouaméni will also be unavailable for France's 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
