Real Madrid are looking to secure yet another win against Málaga this Sunday as they look to keep José Mourinho's return to the Spanish capital off to a flawless start.
Without always hitting top gear, Los Blancos managed to overcome Espanyol and Real Sociedad to get their La Liga campaign underway. The notoriously demanding Bernabéu faithful made their displeasure known when Mourinho's side had the nerve to be level with Real Sociedad at the break, but a stunning burst from Kylian Mbappé quickly secured the three points.
The French skipper reached a milestone of 100 goal contributions for Madrid with his hat-trick in the last outing and will be eager to back up Mourinho's glowing endorsement with another dominant performance. Vinícius Júnior, Jude Bellingham, and reserve striker Carlos Espí have all already found the net at this early stage of the season.
Chupete, meanwhile, remains Málaga's sole scorer so far this campaign. The newly promoted side operate in a vastly different financial reality compared to their opponents. The entire Real Madrid squad earns roughly the equivalent of Málaga's full annual wage bill within a single week. Whether those enormous financial disparities will translate onto the pitch remains to be seen.
