Real Madrid continue to pursue a contract extension with Vinicius Junior, though recent negotiations between both sides have reached an impasse, sources indicate.

The Brazilian forward's situation remains a central topic of conversation at Madrid following revelations that he refuses to sign fresh terms while tensions persist with head coach Xabi Alonso.

Vinicius and Alonso have clashed since the manager's arrival last summer, with their conflict escalating during last month's Clásico loss to Barcelona when the winger was substituted in the 72nd minute.

The 25-year-old was dropped by Alonso for last weekend's frustrating stalemate against Elche, heightening rumors about his departure, though he returned to the first XI during the dramatic 4–3 midweek victory over Olympiacos—providing two assists in the entertaining seven-goal encounter in Athens.
