Just days after Real Madrid's medical team was accused of scanning the wrong leg and missing Kylian Mbappé's knee injury, a new report suggests he was not the only player to have experienced the same error.
Mbappé may have publicly dismissed the allegations, but numerous credible outlets are standing by their reporting that the extent of his left knee injury went undetected because Madrid's medical staff examined his right leg instead.
L'Équipe, among those who reported on the blunder involving Mbappé, now alleges that midfielder Eduardo Camavinga suffered an identical oversight just a few days prior.
The midfielder had his ankle scanned on Dec. 3 and was given the all-clear after the examination of the wrong leg showed no signs of damage. He was named in the squad for the match against Celta Vigo four days later, remaining unused on the bench, before the problem worsened and kept him sidelined for two weeks.
It was during that fixture against Celta Vigo that Mbappé first reported knee discomfort, with the MRI scan conducted two days later becoming the focal point of the entire controversy.
Big Changes Made Following Humiliating Allegations

While Madrid may have pushed back against suggestions of such high-profile blunders, it is evident the Spanish club acknowledged a shortcoming in their medical department when sweeping changes were implemented in January of this year.
Niko Mihic, who served as Madrid's club doctor from 2017–23, was brought back in a consultancy capacity to oversee the care provided across all levels of the club.
Further restructuring followed just one week later, when the exit of manager Xabi Alonso was almost immediately succeeded by confirmation that Antonio Pintus would reclaim a senior role in the team's fitness coaching setup, after having been reassigned to a "performance manager" position when Alonso opted to bring his own backroom staff from Bayer Leverkusen.
Reports have highlighted the close bond between Pintus and club president Florentino Pérez, who is said to hold the coach's contributions in very high regard and personally pushed for his return under Carlo Ancelotti back in 2021.
New head coach Álvaro Arbeloa, who has also spoken highly of Pintus, has nonetheless encountered a string of injury setbacks during his brief spell at the Bernabéu. High-profile players including Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Thibaut Courtois have all been sidelined, while winger Vinicius Junior may require careful management upon returning from international duty with Brazil after reporting muscle discomfort.
