Real Madrid have revealed their new away strip for the 2026–27 campaign, reintroducing a dark green base color for the first time in over a decade.
The kit bears a notable likeness to the club's 2012–13 third strip, serving as a subtle nod to José Mourinho's remarkable return to the Bernabéu. The last occasion Real Madrid donned such a deep, rich shade of green, the Portuguese manager was prowling the touchline at the club.
Further adding to the nostalgic feel is the retro adidas Trefoil badge, winding the clock back even further. It's a refreshing departure from recent away kits that have often felt overly contemporary and lacking in personality.
Los Blancos' new strip strikes a balance between heritage and modernity, featuring geometric detailing and repeated club initials woven into the fabric for added texture and depth. A modern collar with off-white trim completes the look, also visible on the sleeve cuffs and shoulder accents.
The clean, polished aesthetic is difficult to fault, particularly when set against the club's widely panned home shirt, which combines pink and green in a rather uninspired and forgettable design.
When Will Real Madrid First Wear New Away Kit?
Real Madrid are yet to debut either of their new kits for the 2026–27 season. Unlike certain Premier League sides, Los Blancos won't play their first public preseason fixture until August.
The club begins its preseason preparations with a behind-closed-doors match against Leganés at Valdebebas on Tuesday, July 28. With no public broadcast available, the first glimpse of Real Madrid's new strips may come via social media images.
Mourinho's squad then travel to Austria to face Serie A outfit Fiorentina on Saturday, Aug. 1, followed by a clash with Deportivo La Coruña in the Teresa Herrera Trophy on Wednesday, Aug. 12.

Both fixtures are expected to be shown on Real Madrid TV, where supporters will likely get their first proper look at the new home and away kits in action. However, several high-profile players may be absent, with Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappé, and Aurélien Tchouaméni still recovering after reaching the World Cup semifinals.
New arrival Marc Cucurella is also set to miss the early preseason games following Spain's 2026 World Cup triumph. All players are entitled to a mandatory 21-day rest period after the conclusion of the tournament.
