It comes as little surprise that, given the sheer scale of spending during the 2026–27 summer transfer window, a fresh record was established when 18-year-old Ayyoub Bouaddi was rewarded for his rapid rise at Lille and an impressive World Cup campaign with Morocco. Manchester City made their move for the teenager, committing a staggering £86 million ($117 million) to secure his services.
Their crosstown rivals Manchester United have also dipped into Ligue 1 for youthful reinforcements, with Leny Yoro — likewise signed from Lille — costing them £52 million ($67.6 million). That figure edges out the total outlay on Anthony Martial from Monaco in 2015, which ultimately reached £50.4 million ($77.1 million at the time) once all conditional add-ons were factored in at Old Trafford, per the Manchester Evening News.
Chelsea are well represented in the top 10, with Roméo Lavia's £58 million ($73.9 million) arrival from Southampton in 2023 placing second on the list. More recent signings Geovany Quenda and Jorrel Hato also feature, while Estêvão's absence is purely due to the structure of his transfer from Palmeiras — an initial fee of £29 million ($37 million) that could climb to £51.4 million ($78 million) with add-ons.
Brighton & Hove Albion's £46 million ($62.5 million) acquisition of highly-touted center back Luka Vušković lands in fifth place, while Wolverhampton Wanderers' ultimately disappointing signing of Fábio Silva comes in eighth. Just behind the Portuguese forward is Tyler Dibling, who made the move to Everton from Southampton in 2025.
Completing the top 10 is Archie Gray, who moved to Tottenham Hotspur from Leeds United for around £30 million ($37.8 million). The fee would have ranked even higher were it not for Joe Rodon's move in the opposite direction as part of the same arrangement.
