Red Bull Boss Delivers Explosive Take on Klopp's Potential Real Madrid Move

While Real Madrid search for possible replacements for Xabi Alonso, Red Bull executive Oliver Mintzlaff disclosed that ex-Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has "clearly stated" his reluctance to return to coaching duties.

Uncertainty clouds Alonso's position at the world's most prestigious club. Puzzling strategic choices, alleged player revolt, and disappointing performances have endangered his position merely five months into the 2025–26 campaign.

Real Madrid have failed to secure victories in six of their previous eight fixtures across various tournaments, sparking extensive rumors about a high-profile replacement arriving in the near future.

Sky Sport Germany's Florian Plettenberg identifies Klopp among Los Blancos' potential candidates should Alonso be dismissed. The German departed Liverpool following the 2023–24 campaign and now serves as Red Bull's Global Head of Global Soccer.

Klopp has similarly been connected to a possible Merseyside comeback during the Reds' current decline, though Arne Slot seems to retain the organization's complete backing, particularly amid the escalating tension between the Dutch manager and Mohamed Salah.

Mintzlaff: Klopp's Commitment Remains With Red Bull

Regardless of increasing rumors, Mintzlaff shows no concern about Klopp possibly departing his present position for a coaching comeback, whether in Madrid or Liverpool.

"Jurgen has clearly expressed that he currently has no desire to coach," the Red Bull executive stated during a gathering organized by the Leipziger Volkszeitung.

"Whether his perspective shifts eventually in the future is naturally conceivable. However, I observe his enthusiasm for this position, his numerous concepts, and his drive for continued growth. Consequently, I remain entirely calm."

Indeed, Klopp confessed he was "depleted of energy" upon announcing his Liverpool departure in 2024. The 58-year-old promised to step away from management for no less than twelve months before joining Red Bull in Jan. 2025.

Whether a prospective opportunity at Real Madrid could persuade Klopp to return remains uncertain. Initially, however, the Spanish powerhouse must reach a conclusion regarding Alonso, which will become apparent in the upcoming weeks.
