Rodrygo Speaks Out: Real Madrid Star Reveals Multiple Transfer Offers Amid Future Speculation

Following months of transfer rumors during the summer, Rodrygo has disclosed that his intention was always to remain at Real Madrid, regardless of the "proposals" he received from various European clubs.

A sharp drop in performance toward the end of the 2024–25 campaign resulted in Rodrygo losing his place in Real Madrid's starting lineup, casting doubt on the winger's future at the club. The speculation intensified when Xabi Alonso assumed control and gave the Brazilian international just one starting opportunity at the Club World Cup.

English Premier League powerhouses Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea all showed interest in Rodrygo, with Bayern Munich also entering the pursuit, but no transfer came to fruition—a result the 24-year-old was hoping for.

"The same situation occurs every summer," Rodrygo stated in a conversation with AS. "Questions about whether I'll depart or if I have proposals from various clubs.

"Each week, I was linked to a different team if I followed what was being reported. Naturally, proposals always exist; I won't deny that. However, I consistently communicated to the club my desire to continue achieving success here, beyond what I've already accomplished," Rodrygo added.

The Brazilian attacker also mentioned his ambition to help Real Madrid secure additional "European Cups"; Rodrygo was instrumental in Los Blancos' 14th and 15th Champions League victories.

With the transfer window now closed, Rodrygo is completely concentrated on maximizing his seventh campaign at the Bernabéu.

"I've consistently stated: 'While Real Madrid desires my services, I'll remain here.' If Real Madrid ever tells me: 'Rodry, seek another club,' I'll respond 'Understood.' But that situation hasn't occurred," Rodrygo explained.

"The organization has consistently informed me they rely on me. When I faced difficulties, they supported me. People theorized because I remained silent. However, I understood my plans for this season with Real Madrid and that I would concentrate on delivering my finest performance. It didn't trouble me. I remained composed, and here I am… as usual."

Rodrygo, who lost his right-wing position to new acquisition Franco Mastantuono, now battles with Vinícius Júnior for minutes on the left side. Despite receiving significantly fewer minutes than in previous seasons, he continues "improving constantly" and remains "content" under Alonso's guidance.
