Ruben Amorim Delivers Playful Bruno Fernandes Injury Bombshell: 'You Can Write That'
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has stated that Bruno Fernandes will be unavailable for the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite the captain's eagerness to return and his claims that he "needs to train."
Concerns arose at Manchester when Fernandes was substituted at halftime during the 2–1 loss to Aston Villa before the Christmas break. Worries intensified when Amorim disclosed that the midfielder, who picked up a soft tissue problem, would be out of action for "a while."
Fernandes was forced to observe from the sidelines at Old Trafford as Manchester United claimed a 1–0 victory over Newcastle United on Boxing Day and will remain there when his side welcomes Wolves on Tuesday night.
Amorim stated in his pre-game press briefing that the squad will again be missing their star performer, along with injured players Mason Mount, Kobbie Mainoo, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire, for their last fixture of the year.
"I'm uncertain about Mase's availability for that match. I believe Kobbie Mainoo won't be fit, Bruno won't be fit, Matta won't be fit, Harry won't be fit, so I don't expect we'll have additional players available."
Amorim: 'No Chance' Fernandes Returns This Week

Following United's encounter with Wolves, they will travel to Elland Road for the weekend fixture. When questioned about whether any injured players might return against Leeds United, Amorim remarked with humor, "Bruno is already insisting that he needs to train, but we're uncertain.
"There's absolutely no possibility he'll feature against Wolves, you can be certain of that."
The club hasn't provided a specific timeframe for Fernandes's comeback, though sources suggest the Portugal star won't return until the end of January, regardless of his desire to resume playing. The anticipated return date for the 31-year-old is believed to be the Manchester derby in three weeks' time.
Regarding the other sidelined Red Devils, Amorim remains pessimistic about their involvement in the club's next two matches.
"Mainoo will begin training on the field as well, so we'll monitor the situation. Matta is having some difficulties, Harry faces similar issues, so I don't anticipate having these players available for this match [against Wolves]. For the following game [against Leeds], it's uncertain."
