Ruben Amorim Reveals Summer Star's Return Timeline: "Just Weeks Away"
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has announced that summer acquisition Benjamin Šeško will be sidelined for the coming "few weeks" following a knee problem sustained in the 2–2 stalemate against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Slovenia striker entered the match around the 60-minute mark in north London a fortnight ago, but had to be withdrawn before full-time after suffering an injury from a robust tackle by Micky van de Ven.
United, having exhausted their substitution options, were compelled to finish the match with ten players, though a dramatic late header from Matthijs de Ligt secured a valuable point for the away side.
Šeško was subsequently ruled out of Slovenia's remaining two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures against Kosovo and Sweden, raising concerns that the ex-RB Leipzig forward had encountered a serious injury.

However, while medical examinations showed no severe damage, Amorim anticipates being without Šeško for approximately one month. Prior to Everton's trip to Old Trafford on Monday evening, the United manager stated: "He [Šeško] will remain out for several weeks. I'm uncertain of the exact duration, but it's not overly serious. We must exercise caution with him. He will make a full recovery, and he's already feeling improved."
From a statistical perspective, Šeško has experienced a challenging beginning to his Red Devils journey, netting only twice across 11 outings, and Amorim acknowledged it was a "reality" that the 22-year-old has "found things difficult" at his new club.
Although his absence represents a setback, United have demonstrated they can succeed without a traditional striker this campaign. Amorim will probably rely on Mason Mount to support Matheus Cunha and the exceptionally impressive Bryan Mbeumo during Šeško's recovery period.
Should the forward remain unavailable until Christmas, he would miss fixtures against Crystal Palace, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bournemouth and Aston Villa, alongside Monday evening's encounter.
