Ruben Amorim Stunned by Benjamin Sesko's Immediate Impact at Man Utd: "He Exceeded All My Expectations"

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim struggled to contain his enthusiasm when discussing his views on new acquisition Benjamin Šeško.

Following an intense transfer tussle with Newcastle United, the Red Devils ultimately secured Šeško's signature and welcomed him to Old Trafford in a package potentially worth £74 million ($99.8 million). Though he missed pre-season preparations, he made his debut appearance during the closing 25 minutes of his team's disappointing 1–0 loss to Arsenal.

Supporters are eager to witness Šeško's maiden start in United colors this Sunday when they travel to face Fulham. Based on Amorim's remarks, there's considerable cause for optimism.

"At a club of this stature, you desire top-quality players while also considering future prospects," Amorim shared with Sky Sports.

"It's incredibly thrilling—I enjoy studying players, analyzing their footage, and gathering comprehensive details, but you seek that validation and I discovered Šeško exceeded my expectations.

"I must exercise caution, Šeško will serve as our forward for numerous seasons ahead, so we must instill that mindset and allow him to adapt, remain composed and embrace each moment because he's truly dedicated.

"I'm genuinely pleased—not only with him but also with Cunha, Diego [Léon] and Mbeumo—we understand we possess the talent and recognize that our foundation for the future is established, which holds tremendous significance for us."

United impressed during their season opener against Arsenal, with Amorim suggesting that display stemmed from the squad regaining their joy following a pre-season that has instilled confidence about advancement this campaign.

"Previously, I sometimes felt anxious approaching matches, but now I'm energized, it's entirely transformed," Amorim revealed. "We endured so much hardship together [last season] and that experience can unite people—the morale is excellent.

"When you sense the team performing effectively, confidence grows and you feel liberated to play, and when you feel that freedom, happiness follows. Greater happiness improves daily life and creates a positive cycle."
