Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have told supporters to "buckle up" for yet another "crazy" campaign packed with both glory and heartbreak.
The Red Dragons wrapped up last season in seventh place in the Championship, the club's highest-ever league position in its 162-year history, raising the benchmark for success to unprecedented heights in North Wales.
Wrexham have been on an extraordinary ride since the Hollywood pair took over as co-chairmen in February 2021, climbing from the National League to the Championship across three back-to-back promotion seasons.
It's no secret that Reynolds and Mac are dreaming of guiding the club all the way to the Premier League, but they've encouraged fans to savour the journey and embrace every high and low that comes with it.
Wrexham Fans Set for Another Rollercoaster Ride
Five years ago this Friday, Wrexham were taking on Woking in the National League while West Ham faced Southampton in the Premier League, ahead of a home fixture against Manchester United. This weekend, Wrexham and West Ham will go head-to-head at London Stadium as equals, both chasing three crucial points in their respective promotion bids.
In an interview held before Wrexham's opening home fixture of the season against Watford, the co-chairmen were asked what they wanted to say to the club's supporters.
"Buckle up. It's always going to be that crazy ride," Reynolds said. "There are going to be wins, there are going to be losses. There is going to be heartbreak, there's going to be soaring moments of triumph. I just can't wait; I missed it. This was the longest offseason I have ever felt; it felt like it was an eternity."
Mac shared the same sentiment, adding: "Triumph and tragedy, that is what it is going to be. Hopefully from now until the end, because that is why the stakes are so high. If it was just a constant march toward success, then it is not interesting; it is not indicative of what life is. We're in this for the long haul; the club is in it for the long haul. As Ryan said, strap in because it is going to be a very, very exciting year of squeaky bums."
Nothing Will Beat Notts County
Even if Wrexham eventually realise their Premier League ambitions, it will take something truly extraordinary to surpass the emotional release of clinching promotion from the National League after 15 long years in the division.
A defining moment in that journey was their thrilling 3-2 win over Notts County late in the campaign, when veteran goalkeeper Ben Foster came out of retirement to save a last-gasp penalty and secure a crucial victory over their title rivals.
With just one automatic promotion place up for grabs to League Two, that breathtaking moment effectively handed the Red Dragons the title and made fans truly believe that something special was happening at the Racecourse Ground.
