Salah's Heartfelt Goodbye: Liverpool Star Delivers Touching Tribute as Nunez Departs Anfield

Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah expressed that he felt "fortunate" to have Darwin Núñez as both a companion and colleague as he said goodbye to the Uruguayan player.
Núñez concluded his three-season tenure at Liverpool earlier this month when he departed Anfield for Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, in a transfer that is anticipated to bring Liverpool approximately €65 million (£56.1 million, $76.1 million) through various attainable bonus clauses.
Throughout their time as teammates, Núñez and Salah featured together in 122 matches—representing a personal record for the former—with only Virgil van Dijk (5,911) accumulating more playing time alongside Núñez than Salah (5,676).
"I feel fortunate to have shared the pitch with you as both a colleague and companion," Salah posted on social media. "You were consistently genuine and contributed tremendous positive energy to every situation.
"You brought joy to our group and demonstrated passion in all your endeavors. Your absence will be felt and I hope for your success at your new team."
Núñez responded by saying: "Grateful for everything my friend, the honor was all mine! You'll be missed!"
Liverpool aims to use the money generated from Núñez's departure to acquire a new striker, with Newcastle United's Alexander Isak being Slot's primary target.
An offer of £110 million ($149.4 million) was turned down by Newcastle during the summer and the Reds are still considering an enhanced proposal. Though Liverpool possesses the resources and maintains interest, they are expected to make another attempt only if Newcastle shows willingness to negotiate, which hasn't occurred yet.
Newcastle seeks replacements for Isak, whom they price at £150 million ($203.7 million), but are hesitant to part with the Swedish forward despite reports that he has vowed to refuse playing for the team again.
