Brighton & Hove Albion swept both of the Premier League's September monthly honors, with midfielder Pascal Groß claiming the Player of the Month award and Fabian Hürzeler earning the Manager of the Month accolade.
Groß was one of two Seagulls nominees, joined by forward Charalampos Kostoulas, after an outstanding month that propelled Brighton to third place in the Premier League table.
The midfielder racked up two goals and three assists across wins against Leeds United, Coventry City, and Arsenal — and that doesn't even include his goal in the Carabao Cup comeback triumph over Manchester United.
At 35, Groß becomes the first Brighton player ever to claim the award and the sixth-oldest recipient in its history, behind only Paul Scholes, Gianfranco Zola, Cristiano Ronaldo, Teddy Sheringham, and all-time record-holder Stuart Pearce, who was just two months short of his 39th birthday when he won it in February 2001.

Hürzeler Completes Brighton Clean Sweep

Both individual honors are heading to the south coast, with manager Hürzeler predictably collecting his own prize following a standout September.
The month began on a frustrating note with a 1–1 draw against Leeds, but Hürzeler's response was emphatic. A commanding 5–0 thrashing of Coventry served as a powerful reminder of just how dangerous Brighton can be when firing on all cylinders.
For anyone still unconvinced, Brighton put the matter to rest with a 3–0 win over Arsenal. Carving out chances against the Gunners is no easy feat, yet Hürzeler's men made it look effortless, inflicting the third-heaviest defeat of Arteta's Premier League reign and Arsenal's worst result since May 2023 — also a 3–0 loss to Brighton.
That impressive run left Brighton comfortably placed in third heading into the international break, though the Seagulls face a demanding schedule before October draws to a close.
Fixtures against Sunderland and Crystal Palace early in the month should present chances to extend their winning run, but October concludes with daunting away trips to both Liverpool and Manchester City, sandwiching a Carabao Cup visit to the Etihad.
If Hürzeler has ambitions of retaining the managerial award next month, he'll certainly have to work for it.
