Both awards will see fresh recipients as Everton's Jack Grealish and Liverpool's Arne Slot won't get the opportunity to retain their titles. Five separate clubs are now competing for these two accolades.

September 2025 Premier League Player of the Month Candidates

Recording an impressive five goals throughout September, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland emerged as the month's most prolific striker. He found the net in crucial matches against Arsenal and Manchester United, while also contributing an assist.

Daichi Kamada has emerged as a key figure in Crystal Palace's remarkable run of form. Originally signed as an attacking midfielder, the 29-year-old now operates in a deeper position within a 3-4-2-1 formation, showcasing an impressive combination of creative flair and defensive tenacity.

Apart from Haaland, no player matched Yankuba Minteh's three-goal contribution last month, scoring once in each of Brighton & Hove Albion's three fixtures. His display in the 3–1 turnaround victory against Chelsea earned widespread acclaim.

Sunderland have emerged as the season's biggest surprises thus far. September delivered three unbeaten matches for the promoted club, spearheaded by goalkeeper Robin Roefs and midfield acquisition Granit Xhaka. Roefs secured two shutouts, while Xhaka provided assists for all of Sunderland's goals.
