Sesko Hungry for Goals as Man Utd Unleash Predicted Lineup to Battle Brighton in Carabao Cup

A sluggish start to the Premier League campaign means Michael Carrick's position is beginning to come under scrutiny for the first time since his return to Manchester United in January.

The Red Devils' 1–0 loss to cross-city rivals Manchester City on Sunday was far from free of controversy, yet it arguably represented the most dismal display of Carrick's reign so far. United were once again bereft of ideas going forward, with the Cityzens grinding them down despite playing with a numerical disadvantage.

The silver lining for Carrick is that they have an opportunity to bounce back in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The downside, though, is that an in-form Brighton & Hove Albion are making the trip to the Theatre of Dreams. The Seagulls sit atop the Premier League scoring charts through four matches, and have claimed victory on four of their last five visits to the Red Devils' ground.

Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs. Brighton

GK: Karl Darlow—Darlow arrived from Leeds United over the summer, and he is expected to make his competitive debut for the Red Devils on Wednesday.

RB: Noussair Mazraoui—Diogo Dalot marked his 250th Man Utd appearance with a below-par showing in the derby but remains the preferred starter. Squad rotation and workload management should open the door for Mazraoui.

CB: Leny Yoro—Yoro has not developed at the pace many anticipated in Manchester, and the French defender looks set to be restricted to domestic cup starts in the near future.

CB: Ayden Heaven—The young centre-back, deputising for Lisandro Martínez this season, needs to take full advantage of cup opportunities to prove his worth.

LB: Luke Shaw—Patrick Dorgu stepped in for Shaw during the derby, but there is optimism that the England international will be fit to feature here.

CM: Youri Tielemans—The summer signing held nothing back following Sunday's defeat, admitting United deserved nothing from the derby despite the contentious circumstances surrounding Erling Haaland's winning goal.
