Shocking Reversal: Jurgen Klopp Stuns Fans With Unexpected U-Turn On Man City Charges

Ex-Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has stated he is "not really interested" in watching Manchester City lose their Premier League titles, walking back an earlier comment in which he joked he would throw a private celebration if such a ruling came to pass.

Klopp's Liverpool side finished second behind City in both 2018–19 and 2021–22 and would, theoretically, be handed the championship if the Citizens are stripped of titles won during their alleged major financial rule violations.

Back in January 2025, Klopp had laughed that he would welcome everyone to a private party in Mallorca, Spain, should City's titles be revoked. His tune has since changed considerably.

"I haven't thought about it much," said the current Germany national team head coach. "I also know I said that if there's ever a parade, I'd show up. I can only wait and see.

"I have great respect for Pep Guardiola and the way City play football. They produced brilliant football and were an outstanding opponent for us. If any penalties are imposed, I have no part in it. I'll wait and see.

"I don't really feel strongly about it. It's not as though I desperately need to have won the English title a few more times. I'm nowhere near preparing for a title celebration or anything like that. I'm completely at peace with what we accomplished at Liverpool. We gave everything on the pitch.

"I can't say more about it because I don't know the details. To be honest, I'm also not really interested in it."
